From Njupeskär, the drive continues to Bunkris Brandtorn.
Bunkris fire tower is a fire tower located in Bunkris in Älvdalen district in Älvdalen municipality , Dalarna County . The tower, built during the 1890's, is 24 m high and is 600 m above sea level. The tower was built to monitor the forests of the river valley in the event of fire, but the tower was also used during the Second World War by the Armed Forces . At the bottom of the tower, there is a resting cabin and in the top, reached by steep stairs, there is a viewpoint. From the top of the tower, you can see for miles in all directions in good weather. Then, we were at Trängslet Dam. It was dried up, so we walked down to the base of the dam.
The Trängslet Dam is a rock-filled embankment dam on the Dal River near the town of Trängslet in Dalarna, Sweden. At 125 m (410 ft) in height, it is the tallest dam in the country. Its reservoir, with a capacity of 880,000,000 m3 (710,000 acre⋅ft), is also the largest artificial lake in Sweden. The dam was constructed between 1955 and 1960. Its hydroelectric power station has an installed capacity of 330 MW. It is owned by Fortum. Source from Wikipedia.
That night, we slept in a rest-hut at Storstupet Nature Reserve. It was a bit hard but we make do with our sleeping mats.
