Tastebud : Weidao, A Taste of Asia

7 September 2018

When I started working, I have decided that I will try different restaurants and cafes in Stockholm because there are just so many of them. It is not surprising considering the number of expats in the city. I am not a hard-core foodie but I would like to have a gastronomic experience here. I am not very fussy with food, and hence, I don't mind trying new places and new menu, as long as it is not Malaysian food. Haha! I am not willing to pay high prices for Malaysian food especially when I am able to enjoy the authentic ones at a much cheaper price.

When I got my first month's salary on 26 August 2018 (gosh, the happy feeling of earning money AGAIN after 1 years and 4 months of being jobless and being financially dependent), I decided to treat my manager, the person who gave me the opportunity to do an internship with my company who then subsequently employed me, to lunch. She gave me hope again that I can work in Stockholm. I am forever grateful to her, and I am forever thankful that I crossed paths with such a kind soul who decided to grant me this opportunity. We had lunch at an Asian restaurant, the place where we had our lunch on my first day as an intern.

I took sashimi. It tastes different from the sashimi I have tried in Malaysia - tastes fresher back home. Underneath the fishes is sushi rice. SEK130/RM65. I was shocked by the price but this is the expected price for Japanese food especially if the restaurant is located in the city.
