Tastebud : Rival Bistro

Today, we had dinner in a bistro that is in Hotel Rival. Hotel Rival is owned by one of the ABBA's singers. We spoke to a waiter and he said that the said owner has a suite in the hotel and comes in once or twice a week. 

The only thing I liked about the food was the dessert. I had venison meat as the main course and to me, it tasted like liver and was chewy so I did not enjoy it. My dish was from the day's menu.

The dessert was lip-smacking good! Chocolate bavarois, salted pecan, biscuit crumbs and strawberry sorbet. SEK119.

Tastebud : AG (2nd time)

I am not an extreme meat lover but AG restaurant serves the best meat dishes and the place is always fully booked. For me, this place is reserved for special occasions. I was here before for my birthday and this year, we are here again for my boyfriend's birthday. 

The grilled bread is still as good as the first time I tried it. Presentation looks similar too. The dip is butter mixed with animal fat. Yums... so unhealthy. 

For appetisers, we had grilled and lightly smoked bacon from Fällmans SEK75 and white asparagus with ramson and james iberico de bellota SEK225. Both were really good. I do not have better adjectives than 'good'. Haha!

Our main dish came with baked potatoes (you can see the baked potatoes on my plate), grilled tomatoes, salad with parmesan cheese and bearnaise sauce. The baked potatos are yummy when it is hot and the butter melting inside it so it is juicy but one gets full too. 

Here is the main dish - entrecote tomahawk. SEK1595.

One is encouraged to suck the bone because it is juicy. I did it for photo purposes. 

Tastebud : Man in the Moon (2nd time)

Back to Man in the Moon again after 3 years. The pub that sells many kinds of beer.

I enjoy sour beer. So, I had sour beer raspberry and hibiscus flavour for SEK54 and nd a spicy  chilliburger for SEK210. I think the price of this meal has increased. Three years ago, I took burger too and it costed SEK190. Plus, the meal's presentation has changed. This time, my burger was served on a tray rather than a plate. I do hope the tray was clean. Of course, we had complimentary bread too. 

 

Tastebud : Greasy Spoon

Finally, I get to visit this cafe - Greasy Spoon. This place is always full with people, so, we planned ahead that we will be the first to arrive and wait for the door to open. Luckily, we did that because a queue started to form behind me very quickly! 

The first thing we had was the brewed coffee and it tasted so good. I do not know if it is because of the coffee seeds or because of the oat drink. There was no milk. A cup of brewed coffee costs SEK44 and one can refill as many as you wish. Of course, it is a not a big cup. See how my fingers are trying to grip the cup. 

We were there for brunch and ordered three different kinds of dishes - Eggs Arlington with salmon SEK165 (smoked salmon and poached egg on English muffins topped with hollandaise sauce), followed by ...

weekly specials - Quesadillas SEK169 (slow cooked beef ribeye, mixed chillies, cheese, onion-coriander salsa, tajin spice and beef consomme for dipping) and ...

Mexican rostada SEK149 (house veggie rostado topped with 2 sunny eggs, avocado, sour cream and hot sauce). 

Everything were yummy! I would definitely go again but to try other food on the menu. 

Tastebud : Lotus House

The best kind of food to eat on a winter day is steamboat or hotpot, as they call it too. The April month is famous for its unpredictability. Cold and warm. We had hotpot at Lotus House. Lots of variety and due to Corona pandemic, each of us got our own mini hotpot to cook our chosen dishes. It is a buffet to choose and it costed SEK248. Quite worth the price if you choose lots of meat - lamb and entrecote.

I remembered I was super happy when I saw 'you tiao'. That is my favourite fried bread!
