Tastebud : Sen Kitchen Street at S2

29 March 2023

I am on a mission to try all the stalls in the food court in Mall of Scandinavia. The first one I tried was Raamen Noodles and Rice. Today, I tried South East Asian food - 9 River Salad at Sen Kitchen Street for SEK159 and it comes with a complimentary packet drink. I like the fish sauce.

In the salad - Lemongrass marinated beef with mixed salad, fresh herbs, sour carrot and radish, rice noodles, roasted onion and peanuts. I copied the description from Foodora

Tastebud : Juniper Tree

26 March 2023

Brunch at Juniper Tree. I tried truffel omelette on rye bread for SEK120 and my boyfriend had burrata on sourdough bread with salad for SEK115. The price is not too bad. We had cappucino. Mine is a small cup for SEK42 and his is large cup for SEK46. So, the size of the cup is not very obvious and I think the difference of SEK4 does not justify it. They could serve in a cup that is way bigger in size.

Buns are so expensive nowadays. SEK40 for a cinnamon or cardamum bun.

Can you tell which is the big and small cup? If you cannot, I could not either the first time. The green one is the big cup.

Rye bread is very filling so the meal was sufficient for me.

Tastebud : Raamen Noodles & Rice at S2

22 March 2023

A new food court recently opened in Mall of Scandinavia. This is very welcoming because Mall of Scandinavia does not have many restaurants. I tried 3 different restaurants in the mall - Noori which is a small Japanese restaurant, bad experience in Swedish Diner by Basilica (giants potatoes under an entrecote) and La Pasta Veloce (italian food).

I went to the first stall - Raamen Noodles and Rice. I took Full Loaded Ramen for SEK145. It has, according to its website, Silky miso soup, roasted pork, spring onion, bonito, bamboo shoots, marinated egg, crushed black sesame seeds, noodles. SO GOOD broth! I took a picture of the bowl from the front view to show that the bowl slimmed down drastically which means it is not a huge portion.

Tastebud : Ulriksdal slottsträdgården

12 March 2023

Today, I had the most expensive brewed coffee ever at Ulriksdal slottsträdgården. SEK45 for a mug! Plus, it is a just a standard mug. Ohmaigawd! I cannot believe it when I saw the receipt. SEK45 would be a discounted price for a 500g packet of coffee powder that is used to brew the coffee. Prices of groceries have escalated without boundaries in Sweden and I have become so conscious in buying my ingredients to cook. Now, this price has become my benchmark when I look at coffee prices now in cafes. I had a slice of white chocolate cheesecake for SEK65.

It is just too expensive for me. This place has a nice nursery and next time, I am just going to focus on appreciating the nursery. I am not even going to attempt to buy anything from the nursery.

Tastebud : Mamadou

2 March 2023

Today's lunch is at Mamadou with my girlfriends. This place is so awesome because there are complimentary spring rolls! I have never had complimentary spring rolls before. So yummy! Although those are frozen spring rolls that just needs to be fried. I mean, spring rolls usually needs to be paid for but this place gives them as complimentary like how majority restaurants offer complimentary bread or salad. Plus, one can take as many spring rolls as one wants! I took 4 only because the tiny plate allows four. For lunch, I had mango chicken for SEK129 that also includes complimentary coffee. It is chicken pieces in mango chutney sauce and is a sufficient portion for me. The rice was quite a lot as I am not used to eating rice since I seldom have rice. So, today's lunch is a thumbs-up for me!
