Today, I participated in my company's summer party. It was lots of drinks and drinks. And I think Swedes love to drink or in better terms, appreciate the finer side of life. We had a pre-drink session with the department where each of us got 3 coupons for either beer, wine or soda. This was then followed by the summer party where we had 5 coupons! I utilised the 3 coupons during the pre-drink event and 2 coupons during the summer party. I believe I have drank more in my 2 years in Sweden than my entire life in Malaysia. Seriously.
Parties here are usually a speech, food and drinks, and loud music. There are no games or performances. Probably if the company is huge and there is a lot of staff, there is always someone to talk to all the time.
For the pre-drink event, we gathered at Strandbryggan. I have always wanted to enter into this floating bar whenever I walked past it.
First drink coupon utilised with a rose wine. Rose wine is, apparently, a summer wine.
Second drink coupon - non-alcoholic beer - Easy Rider Bulldog. It was light to the taste.
Last drink coupon for the pre-drink event - Carbonated drink - Fanta.
Then, we made our way to the summer party which is huge garden located at Linnegatan 87F. It was spacious. The food was good too.
Of course, drinks first. First drink coupon - bubble champagne with a slice of orange.
I was not dressed for a summer party. To my defense, it was chilly in the morning.
First food that I tried - Korean food : Grilled bulgogi - Kimchi, entrecote and noodles. I liked this the best!
Second food - Rice with salmon and egg. The rice was a bit too much for me here as the taste was plain.
Last food - deep fried chicken. The chicken was a tad hard for me.
Second drink coupon - 5% alcoholic beer. This took me forever to finish. A colleague mentioned that it was tasty and I tried it, but me being a newbie-drinker, cannot identify the difference.
Dessert! Raspberry mouse.
The end.
